Georgia Vaccination Requirements

All surgeries and vaccinations are performed or administered by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the HELP Spay/Neuter Clinic.

Georgia Law requires all pets 12 weeks and older to receive an annual rabies vaccine. If you are unable to provide proof of a vaccine for your pet within the previous 12 months, we will vaccinate the day of your pet’s surgery. Additionally, we recommend the following vaccines:

  • Dogs: DHPP, Bordetella, Leptospirosis
  • Cats: FVRCP and FELV

Vaccines may not fully protect your pet for up to two weeks from the time of vaccination.

Georgia law (Rabies Control Law-O.C.G.A. -31- 19) requires that all owned dogs and cats be vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian using approved vaccines in accordance with the National Compendium of Animal Rabies Prevention and Control. If you have any questions about Georgia Pet Vaccination requirements, please contact the state’s Department of Health.
